Equity and Diversity Certificate

diversity final.jpg

The Office for Equity and Diversity announces an Equity and Diversity Certificate, designed to help participants develop tools for advancing equity and diversity in all aspects of their personal and professional lives. The certification has two levels--basic and advanced--and is free of charge and open to students, faculty and staff on all campuses of the University of Minnesota. At this time, workshops are not offered via ITV, but we are working with coordinate campus leadership to find appropriate ways to make these educational opportunities available on each University campus.

The Certificate:
- Offers participants a theoretical framework for understanding equity and diversity work
- Helps participants develop necessary skills for equity and diversity work
- Gives participants direct experience working and communicating across differences

Registration is now open for the following workshops:
Being an Ally in the Work of Equity & Diversity
Leadership in the Context of Equity & Diversity
Working Effectively in Groups & Diversity Committees
Communicating on Issues of Equity & Diversity
Evaluating our Efforts on Equity & Diversity
Educating about Equity & Diversity: Facilitating Challenging Conversations

Workshops start on January 31. Learn more about the Equity and Diversity Certificate, access frequently asked questions, or contact Anne Phibbs, OED Director of Education, at phib0001@umn.edu or 612-625-9973.
