Open Mic!

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Yo, I'm back and I survived my round of exams. That was a huge relief. Attempting to remember 900 years of medieval history as well as the thesis behind argument rhetoric principles is just a bit tricky. But its over and now I have a slight break until next week when I start my Accounting Exams. :P

However, there is a lot more going on about campus besides exams. UMM had a major celebration to commemorate its founding which meant free music (tons of live bands), free food, and some other interesting stuff last weekend. Even better is Open Mic night tonight! Open Mic Night occurs in the Turtle Mountain Cafe every last Thursday of the month. Its kind of like a talent show; students do all kinds of stuff to showcase their talent everything from singing, instrumentals, band wars, comedy routines, storytelling, etc. Its probably may favorite part of the month cause it gives my friends and I a chance to hang out, lattes, and fun entertainment.

In addition to that I'm heading home this weekend to raid the fridge, do genealogical research and to do some minor car repairs. I love UMM but its nice to go home occasionally for a break from the hustle and bustle.

Gotta go, there's accounting homework to do and a latte with my name on it!

Are We Done Yet?

I don't even know how long it's been anymore. I've had tests, papers, and just about everything you can think of to do and I'm not sure when I am. (If that makes any sense) Luckily for me things have been going at an even pace, even though that pace is somewhat fast. I'm prepping for a coding contest up in Thief River Falls which is way north of hear but should be a fun trip none the less. There is a coding dojo tonight for those who want to come and have a little fun or even just watch, though one thing that is needed from everyone is at least five minutes in... The Chair. the chair.jpg
Okay not really that chair... though that is a pretty weird looking chair. Basically what that means is everyone needs to drive a little. Driving is basically taking a turn at the keyboard. It should be a fun time and from what I remember my prof telling me there will be pizza there. Anyway this week should be like just about every other week other than the fact that I have TWO EXAMS!! I have a midterm in my geology class and an exam in my models of computing systems class. Oh Boy! Well I guess that is all I've got for now.

"Where's Ninja?"

KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Where's Ninja?" Is a phrase I often hear from my roommate and she's right. Trying to find me on an average day at UMM is worse than hunting for Waldo in the comics. You might find me at the RFC running laps, in class, ninja training in the PE center, grabbing a coffee in the TMC, baking cookies in Gay 2-3, chillin' in the apartments, or sifting steadily through my homework in the library. And that's a low key day-I have to start stepping up my game cause the first round of exams/papers are around the corner.

But what's new? There was a lecture on Hippies earlier this week that was fascinating. I never realized that there were so much to hippy culture. For instance, the word, "hippy" can be traced back to the word "hipster." Besides that I have been doing a crash course on the real Vikings (the ones without the purple) so now I know that Vikings have a complex folklore and crafted ships that could sail through the oceans or through rivers because they rode so high in the water.

So with those thoughts mixing with the Genealogy and Accounting homework I need to do before tomorrow morning. And a radio show to plan out. This Ninja is off to perform yet another disappearing into the wilds of UMM!

2nd Blog Entry Bonanza

so I hope the name grabbed your attention. Like it states this is my second blog back. I would have wrote one last week but I was sick :P Anyway classes are going good so far. I'm finding out exactly what I've gotten myself into. I have yet to think "what am I doing here?" which is probably a good thing. We are gearing up for homecoming. This year is going to be great. Is the 7th-10th of October and it should be tons of fun. To see all the fun stuff happening click here
It seems as of late there has been a bit of a bug going around campus at least it has in the choir. If you are one of these sick people go to health services please I don't want to get sick. I'm really having some trouble thinking of what to blog about. If you can think of something please let me know. I guess that is all I have for today. I thought this entry could be something special.... I hope my title wasn't misleading.

its the 4th week already?

KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! GUESS WHAT-NINJA is back!!! Working on her junior year at the marvelously mighty University of Minnesota Morris!

I can't believe it, its already the 4th week of fall semester. It doesn't seem that way and yet it does. Time really has been flying this semester. However, I was very glad to get back into the groove of college life again...I missed the college social life, martial arts, and my radio show a lot over the summer.

So far my semester sounds like its going to be interesting. I'm taking on some very different classes than I usually do-almost no CMR! Scary!!! Instead I'm doing genealogy, accounting, medieval European history, advanced public speaking (hurrah CMR!) and of course taekwondo. I'm working on getting on my second major in history so I'll be seeing lots more of those in my future. All of my classes are very challenging and promise to keep me extremely busy!

To fill up the rest of my time, I'm involved in Taekwondo Club (president), Martial Arts Club (Vice President), and a DJ for KUMM, the Celtic Salute is my show-check it out! I am one of the few Celtic rock radio programs in Minnesota. The clubs are going great its nice to be ninja-ing again and to be teaching other people to be ninjas. However, the best part of my week is still Friday, cause that's when I do my show! I love figuring out which bands match up for making smooth transitions and hosting again.

Its great to be home again!

So Long.....................kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaailhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

And We're Back

ahhh class is back in session! school.jpgWe've been at it for more than two weeks now and things are going great. Classes are going smoothly I've got a decent sized credit load. My classes are physical geology, intro to symbolic logic, professional ethics, and models and computing systems. I'm enjoying them thus far and have already made it through one quiz yay!. I've been keeping busy with all my clubs and organizations. I'm the program director for the radio station... KUMM, yeah the call letters are pretty funny, they are meant to be that way. In case you are wondering and are around the area we broadcast at 89.7 or online at kumm.org, I had to make the plug sorry. I've also been keeping busy with the acm club which is basically the computer science club. I am the vice president, so the responsibilities I have are endless... okay not really but I'm very busy. Yet, I find time to do my job and my blog for it. Well it appears the time I have is winding down. I'll be back next week.
