"Princeton Review's Guide to 311 Green Colleges" recently identified the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities as one of the greenest colleges in North America. Students at the U of M have the opportunity for classroom and hands-on learning in sustainability. U of M students are very active in addressing environmental issues outside of the classroom as well--there are currently more than 20 environment-related student groups are working hard to give new meaning to active enrollment.
One example of our environmentally active students in action is the Justice Jam, a student-run event in 2009 that addressed problems in the environment and how to prevent them. It's amazing what college students can do when they they have a passion for the environment!
