Enterprise Portal Kickoff Event

The University is planning a new Enterprise portal. A kickoff event for the project will take place on Monday, February 4, from 2-4 p.m. with locations on every campus. The kickoff begins a University-wide conversation about creating an easy-to-use interactive web tool for facilitating access to information and services that are of primary relevance and interest to YOU and the University community. The event will include a short overview of the portal project and then move into World Cafe small group conversations about opportunities this project offers to the University community and strategies for being part of creating a new portal that delights the people who us it. Mini Bioethics Academy

Registration is open for Mini Bioethics Academy, sponsored by the Center for Bioethics. The fall series "Bioethical Issues in Film and Television" features ethicists John Song, MD, MPH, MAT; Daniel Groll, PhD; and Maryam Valapour, MD, MPP, FCCP. Using film and television clips including "House," "My Sister's Keeper," and "Gattaca," faculty will facilitate discussion about the ethical issues raised in these shows.

Join us for one, two, or all three upcoming sessions: Mondays, Nov. 12, 19 and 26, 6:30-8:30 p.m., St. Paul Student Center. The discounted rate for U of M students is $10 per session or $25 for all three.

In order to ensure that your anti-virus protection is up-to-date and supported, the Office of Information Technology (OIT) recommends that if you're still using these versions of SAV on your University- or personally-owned computers, you should update your antivirus to the current version, Symantec EndPoint Protection, available for download at www.oit.umn.edu/utools/all-software/symantec-antivirus-125184.html. There is no cost to University faculty, staff and students.
