Fracking has the potential to meet energy demands with U.S. resources and stimulate the economy. However, the practice also carries possible environmental and public health risks.

The University of Minnesota Futures Grant awarded to explore methods for mitigating the environmental impacts of fracking will involve School of Public Health research collaboration.
