There is so much compromise involved when having to work under the auspices of an organization yet having to showcase your work as an individual within that organization. I love the University of Minnesota but I am at odds with trying to develop my own blog from which to showcase some of my work. The in house UThink blog service is not easy to use. Yes it is easy to make an entry but how to integrate my twitter feed into my blog? With Word Press this is easy but the URL is with Word Press and the U is reluctant to provide DNS mapping to their domain. The U has now incorporated Google Sites but that has its own limitations but it is going to be the tool i go with. Its easy to use and customize. The URL has elements of UMN.edu in it and i can customize it to look like a UMN page.
