Not so great start

Media Mill Video

So we made it all the way to East bank before poor Ben had an unfortunate run-in with some well-hidden cement stairs. His jaw was broken in two places and will require re-constructive surgery. His spirit was not broken, though, as he requested that we document his experience and that we continue the outing while he was escorted to the hospital. Stay well sedated Ben!! :)

Outing in Dinkytown

After a dramatic start, we had a very successful outing.
David S., Andrea and Amelia rocked it with their project testers.
Here are some more pictures.
Andrea took some video, perhaps she'll put it up soon... (hint hint!)
JP Hungleman joined us for some live beats.

Also learned that we can run 2 projectors off 1 generator for a surprisingly long time.

operation: experiment marathon

Last night was a test run for people to try various videos &c. that they have been working on. We discovered some things, projection on black glass ie Carlson does not really work. Projection on bricks seems difficult unless the image is primarily light colored. Also seems it would be better if there was not a lot of contrast between the mortar and brick color. Everything worked with the generator till we ran out of gas. then we borrowed power from exterior outlets, of which there seems to be a plethora of on campus.
see below, Dave, meta or something and a test image for my Ebenezer project

Generator Free Bikes for Art on Wheels

Doing some more research on making the bikes run without batteries....

Seems that with an inverter like this one, or this one, and a deep cycle battery like one of these, we may be able to provide enough juice.

Any volunteers for looking into charging these specific parts with solar?
