         <title>Rybak announces budget proposal, and public safety is a major concern</title>

<p>R.T. Rybak recently proposed his budget and within that budget one of the most key changes that he had made was a change in the public safety budget. Rybak intends on increasing the public saftey budget from $192 million to $200 million, about a 4% increase. This money will be allocated to assist in policing, firefighting, emergency functions and safety programs. Rybak intends on extending the budget to pay for eightteen addtional police officers and 4 more emergency phone operators.</p>

<p>In addition to the budget increase Rybak intends to spend more money on fighting gang graffitti, truancy, curfew violations, youth violence, and bus programs that transport inner-city kids to community programs. </p>]]></description>
