David Sketchbook -3 Dove Commercial
This is a dove commercial where they take an average person and through make-up artists and photoshop they make her into a model in under a minute in quick-time. So this has been around for a while but I figured if anyone hasn't seen it yet it is something they should really watch. I knew that they did this but it is really neat to actually see them do it. Its weird thinking how designers/artists can have so much control and impact, if given the power, on how a person can really be perceived in the real world.

this video is really cool. We all know that they digitally retouch models in ads but I didn't know that they could do it to that extent! (Like lengthening the neck and fussing with the brow line) Cool to see it fast-tracked!

I wonder if we'll ever do that sort of thing, out in the "real world", being the graphic designers that we are.

I love this commercial. I did know that they retouched the models to that extent because I've seen them talk about on tv and in reality shows. It's insane, and this commercial is perfect for showing that. I love the speed that they moved it along at. This is good for many people who never knew that this is what goes on in the model world.

Thank you for posting this. A lot of people hurt themselves trying to achieve those absolutely unrealistic standards. I don't understand what is so appealing about a completely generic person; it's better if you have to search for the beauty a little bit.
