Nicole Shupien Sketchbook #2

This is not completely as far as I would like it to be but it is of Queen Hatshepsut from Egypt during the 18th Dynasty. The only images of her are statues and I would like to portray her as a woman even though when she ruled Egypt she dressed as a man. The building in the background is a tomb that she built (or at least started) and where many of Egyptian kings are buried. The three small figures that are hard to see here are her as a king. I want to put a little bit more emphasis on those figures to show her as a man and a common portrayal of historical Egyptians. I am not sure if I want to have her wearing a dress or if I want her legs to turn into a mummy like image.

I would definitely focus on the contrast between the figure and the architecture. This carries with it a lot of connotations but the challenge for you is to come up with an engaging and unique perspective.
