Chelsey! New Soul!

Comments

Hey there Chelsey! Here's you critique from me, fellow group 4-er. First off- the song and the animation complement each other really well. I mean I know that the animation was based on the song, but the styles go together as well, not just the story. Secondly, I agree with Heba, that the character you created is great. He's so ugly that he's cute! I also agree with her that even though the texture from taking photographs is cool, it sometime distracts from the chartacter. That can be easily fixed by scanning though. My only other constructive criticism is the length of the last frame. It's a bit too long, it feels sort of awkward. If the issue is ending the animation at a certain point in the song, you could add titles at the beginning to make it a little longer. Overal- GREAT JOB! I loved it.

Chelsey- I thought it was very interesting that you based your animation off a song, I'm sure that could be quite challenging. Well first off I really enjoyed your character/creature in your animation. I think you captured his emotions very well. The part where he is right about to throw up the shell is really nice how his face becomes almost disfigured. I know Heba already brought this up but the lighting in some of your frames is a bit distracting (which I'm sure you already know) from photographing the images. The creature coming out of the egg in the begining is really smooth and is a great introduction to your character. I do however feel that the ending is a bit off. Maybe if he would have walked out of the frame or something that could make it more interesting. Bottom line you did a great job and I love the music with it!

The use of the song works real well with this animation! The choice to take pictures with this animation works well with this animation as well. I really like the animation as a whole. The only thing I would say to improve would be to maybe add a beginning and ending to the animation.
