Authorities in Juneau announced Sunday that a 7-year-old boy has admitted to setting a string of arson fires over the past four months.
Dan Jager, the Juneau fire marshal, told the Juneau Empire that the boy has caused up to $1,000 in damages.
The boy admitted to setting fires at an elementary school, the Terry Meyer Legislative building, and at a Fred Meyer store, according to the Associated Press.
The Juneau Empire reported that the boy told Jager he started the fires with a small lighter he found.
According to the Associated Press, the case will be forwarded to probation officers at Juneau's juvenile detention center.
