  1. Use professional mode in the Epson Scan software. You can switch to Professional Mode by selecting that option from the drop down menu in the upper, right corner of the window.
  2. Select your document type. If you are scanning a line drawing you should select the document setting. If you are scanning a color drawing or photograph, you should select photograph.
  3. Save as a TIFF! If you are taking the time to scan, there is no point in compressing the results into a JPEG. Tiff files are lossless (you lose nothing to compression).
  4. Always use the preview to see how your scan will turn out.

You can download and install a printer driver to your laptop and print anywhere you are connected to the Internet.

You will need to have money on your Gopher Gold account (on your UCard) in order to release your print from the two stations in the computer lab. You can add money with a credit card (and a $2 fee) at the Gopher Gold website. Or, you can walk to Walter Library and use the machine on the second floor to add cash to your card without the $2 fee.
