The economic competition among the Europeans during the periods of imperialism and industrial growth provides powerful economic reasons for war to break out again. Militarism, nationalism, and personal identification with the state were also factors as well. Tragically, the War to end All Wars, was not that and in just a few decades the cycle of violence would break out again.
