This blog is the collective effort of public scholars - people who care about gender issues in the daily life, practices and politics of education and international development - and our attempt to understand, make public, and reframe these issues as we experience and understand them through a critical reflective lens.
It started as a project of a Gender, Education and International Development course at the University of Minnesota. We hope it includes scholarly and practical reflections on gender issues in education and development from scholars and practitioners working in and outside of academia to foster dialogue and discourses among differently situated people.
What issues related to gender and education in international development do you care about? What issues do you think need reframing or critical reflection? What public agendas and discourses prompt your reflections? What issues require our action?
