[Fixed] 10.5.4 OS X Update Breaks Parallels 3 Networking? | Posted at 10:07 AM

I don't know if it's just my system, but since I installed the 10.5.4 OSX update this morning, I can't get networking to work in Parallels 3 build 5608 (latest) for Windows XP.

This is unfortunate.

Update: I got it working. Here’s how to fix it:

Stop your virtual machine.
Click Edit –> Virtual Machine
Click Shared Networking
Choose “Bridged Ethernet” and then Apply
Quit Parallels
Download and re-install the latest Parallels build (5608 for me).
Start your Parallels again.
Once in Windows, click Devices –> Network Adapter 1 and clicked “Shared Networking,” in your Parallels toolbar or right-click Parallels icon.
Now you should get an IP address from your Mac.
