I have little hope for Windows 7, after seeing how terrible Vista was I quite frankly doubt it will live up to expectations. it will probably have a nice desktop, but guess that it's about it. Nice update by the way :)

Sol, I've been using Windows 7 as my main OS since the RC came out. It is fantastic and is what Vista should have been.
It hasn't crashed once nor has it had any problem running programs (I am using 64-bit).
I just installed it on my tablet as well and the performance jump is amazing. Vista was so slow and now my tablet flies like an eagle.
Don't knock it til you try it!

Thanks for the share of Switcher. I don't use Flip3D, having wore out its novelty in about 3 minutes. Aeropeek I do use quite a bit, though.
I, too, have been using Win7 since the beta, and now with the RC, I have it on both my work and home machines.
Previously, Vista would not run on my old P4/2.4ghz, but 7 seems to have no issues, and is as snappy as XP Pro was. The Core Duo machine at work screams with Win7!

I hate Windows Vista. I have to admit, Windows 7 was a major improvement. But here's what I don't get, if you want Mac functionality on a PC, why wouldn't you just get a Mac instead?
I use both, but in my opinion Mac is far superior and I only use a Windows PC in a work environment.
Just my two cents. ;-)

I love Windows 7 - previously I used XP and refused to try Vista etc due to all the negative reviews.
However, when I got a new PC shipped with W7, I decided it was worth a try. Used Laplink PC Mover to move across all programs and docs, and pretty much everything that ran on XP works fine on W7. (funnily enough one of the only programmes that needed re-installing was iTunes!)

Suppose you are on a jury and the prosecution brings out expert witnesses in DNA analysis, finger print analysis and ballistics, all giving evidence of the defendant's guilt, and all the defense attorney says is "Science does not appeal to authority!" You'd find his client guilty. If you think the people with expert knowledge are wrong about climate change, it is up to you to show us where they went wrong. We as a people have to make some tough choices. Do we go by the best available evidence or rely on a few contrarians and bloggers?

Windows Vista contains hundreds of new features. Some of the most significant ones are the updated graphical user interface and visual style named Windows Aero, the improved searching features, new multimedia creation tools such as Windows DVD Maker, and completely redesigned networking technology, as well as audio, print, and display sub-systems.

Vista is much more graphic intensive than XP and creates a richer media experience. Of course these requirements increase the cost of hardware needed to run Vista. For those who have been dragging there feet on the video and RAM front have the media creators and PC gamers to blame for the extra cost.

Windows Vista has something for everyone, from tight security and stunning new graphics to some new bundled applications. In fact, there is much that this new operating system has to offer, that it will be a real test for the hardware configuration of your PC. With its sleek new look and eye-catching interface, actually it's what's under the hood that impresses the most.

The Instant Search is a new feature that will help you find whatever you're looking for. It is available almost everywhere in Windows Vista, in the Explorer Dialogs, in the Start Menu, pretty much in every system window. Using it, you can type a filename, a property, or even text contained within a file, and it returns pinpointed results.

Its new driver system makes access and using most program drivers more stable. They have designed a sort of two-tier system which can help prevent crashes. The new Windows Vista system also will detect driver problems as soon as they occur, and the program will restart it automatically without having to reboot the entire system.

The real reason there are always new operating systems is to force continuity in the form of another payment to the software companies. Yes there are always some really cool advances in technology. However, they could just as easily provide the operating system with an update or upgrade. There of course would come a time when you need to upgrade your operating system. However, upgrading each year is just silly. Many of my friends do just this.

I believe Windows 7 has lived up to its anticipations. Vista was genuine mess and should had never come out. I personally use Windows 7. I enjoy its constancy, the design and looks. To my experience, it has better memory management and speed than Vista. I have n't had any difficulty with it so,

I use OSX Snow Leopard with windows 7 in my bootcamp and I must say it's a good OS but still they have to make IE compatible again for Mac users :(

Thanks for the discourse. Windows 7 blows vista away, but there's room for improvement. Sometimes less is more.

I too am conflicted between my place of work and play by these two OSs.
I think the community of developers of apps like this makes up for the fact that Windows is a bit of a laggard - or at least, that's my means of rationalization.

I agree, Windows 7 seems lighting fast and more stable then Vista. Anyone else have a hard time updating XP to Windows 7? Its possible, but not as easy as you might expect.

Windows 7 as my main OS since the RC came out. It is fantastic and is what Vista should have been.
To be revolutionary MS must make a big jump in performance and stability

A virtual assistant can help you grow your business by handling your administrative support tasks. You can outsource various tasks like accounting, advertising, clerical, administrative, answering phone calls, internet research, data entry and technical support tasks to a virtual assistant. And the best part is that you can relax and enjoy your vacation or holidays while all your works are done by your virtual assistant. Isn't it sounds great?

The world of virtual assistance is definitely growing. Virtual assistants can provide a lot services like administrative support , travel arrangements, book keeping and transcription. This can be a real blessing for small businesses which cant afford too much expenses for a full time. Many of the companies are hiring virtual assistants who work from home. The reason is that they can be accessed any time and they work for you round the clock. Thanks for the post.

Thanks for the share. I don't use Flip3D, having wore out its novelty in about 3 minutes. Aeropeek I use sometimes.
I, too, have been using Win7 since the early beta, and now with the RC, I have it on both my work and home machines.

I am still operating on Windows Vista, even though I do not doubt the huge improvements made in Windows 7. Why you may ask...because I have been burned one too many times by inferior Windows products. Sure it may work much better, but i just can't justify spending money on an operating system to fix a troubled system that never should have been released. I would rather set that money aside for the day I finally call it quits and jump ship.

I think Windows 7 is a huge advance in OS and on par with OSX. Currently, I run 7 on my desktop but still get a great deal of use from my MBP.

True. The whole population control thing is based on the same premise: less people, more resources to enjoy. IF so then things like cigarettes and fast food were made to reduce the population.
Oh and I once heard a rumor on an asian country. Apparently, bus drivers would try to kill a pedestrian if ever he bumped him/her accidentally. They want them dead since it is more expensive to pay the person damages month after month, until he/she lives.
