I have little hope for Windows 7, after seeing how terrible Vista was I quite frankly doubt it will live up to expectations. it will probably have a nice desktop, but guess that it's about it. Nice update by the way :)

Sol, I've been using Windows 7 as my main OS since the RC came out. It is fantastic and is what Vista should have been.
It hasn't crashed once nor has it had any problem running programs (I am using 64-bit).
I just installed it on my tablet as well and the performance jump is amazing. Vista was so slow and now my tablet flies like an eagle.
Don't knock it til you try it!

Vista is always preferred by the designer no doubt about that. But windows 7 will be better for them. I my few machine i use vista theme over windows XP. I hope windows7 will be more helpful.

Thanks for the share of Switcher. I don't use Flip3D, having wore out its novelty in about 3 minutes. Aeropeek I do use quite a bit, though.
I, too, have been using Win7 since the beta, and now with the RC, I have it on both my work and home machines.
Previously, Vista would not run on my old P4/2.4ghz, but 7 seems to have no issues, and is as snappy as XP Pro was. The Core Duo machine at work screams with Win7!

Windows 7 was almost a must for Microsoft. They really showed what they can deliver and if they continue this path, Windows 8 will be amazing.

Windows 7 has better memory management and speed than Vista, improved more battery life, shorter startup/shutdown and supposed to be backwards compatible with all Vista apps.

Is Windows 7 really that much better? I guess anything would be an improvement!

I'm not so sure if Windows 7 is a revolution... To be revolutionary MS must make a big jump in performance and stability. Maybe also a change in adopting international standards...

Heard a lot about Windows 7. But still not sure if I will upgrade to Windows 7.
the only problem with upgrade it, you will have to format and lose everything to upgrade and then downgrading is another headache.

Windows 7 runs much faster than Vista and has some better features. It's easy to upgrade from Vista, but a major pain to do so from XP.

Can't say that I was ever a big fan of Vista but Windows 7 is just ok. Though it borrows a lot of ideas from Apple's macs

well from my experience using both vista and 7, i find 7 better in terms of loading. it loads faster and it uses less memory than vista. i think vista was the first release/switch from xp so we it was not fully built until they released 7.
