My exposure to Instant Messaging has been somewhat negative. I have seen it be an interruption to the work of others and decrease productivity. I guess my age shows when I say, why not just send an email. Then I would have documentation of this as well. I haven't yet wrapped my head around a use for UChat that can't be done otherwise, and I think that chatting is often a large time consumer and waster.
