Home Stay in Chiang Mai
Last night we stayed in a local village with soy bean farmers. When we first arrived they fed a a big celebration meal with rice, stirfried vegtable, spicy clear soup with shrimp and a few other traditional dishes. Then just as the rain began to pour down we moved all of the tables in the one room community building and sang and danced the night away. They began with some traditional music and dance that the local women taught us then we took the stage and did the hokie pokie, and head shoulders knees and toes. It seemed childish but we all had a great time and so did the villagers. They were very welcoming and so excited to have us all stay with them for a night in the village.
