Group Work in the Classroom Types of Small Groups.jpgResearch Guidelines used for Psychology is the same thing as the scientific method; instead of obtaining results using beakers and test tubes during an experiment, professionals in Psychology conduct experiments and polls solely on the behavior and manner of people. Using people in experiments can be tricky, though. People can lie, not take the poll, exaggerate, bias influences answers, etc. and the information obtained is falsified. Without accurate data, the researcher's results are tarnished and inaccurate. Because of these variables, experiments are conducted for many years in order to get an accurate result. In order to get accurate results, the researcher must put their personal biases aside too. The researcher must keep their mind open when obtaining data and realize that a hypothesis is never a concrete statement and can be changed.
