New Interlibrary Loan System Begins Service

Bio-Med's Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service for current students, staff, and faculty in the health sciences (patrons in other disciplines can use the University Libraries’ Interlibrary Loan services). This service is provided by the Bio-Medical Library to promote coursework and scholarly research by providing access to publications not held by the University Libraries. How do you make use of our ILL services? By using our new ILL system! We’re happy to announce that ILLiad was recently implemented and offers several benefits to our patrons.

With ILLiad you're able to:

  • set and maintain your ILL preferences, such as delivery method, in your one-time registration

  • easily change your user information, such as address or phone number

  • view the status and history of your ILL requests

  • submit online requests anytime, anywhere

  • edit requests already submitted

With ILLiad, it’s more convenient to submit your ILL requests. You'll enter your name, address, and other personal information only when you initially register. ILLiad improves efficiency and accuracy in processing your requests, and staff are better able to answer your questions. You can get information about the status of your requests by logging into your account rather than contacting the ILL office.

Give ILLiad a try! Go to to register or submit requests. Please note that your ILLiad account is separate from your MNCAT account and Internet ID. Choose any user name and password that you like, except your x.500 user name or password. The password you select is private -- even the library staff will not know your password.

For more information, contact the Bio-Med InterLibrary Loan office at (612) 626-2969 or e-mail We look forward to providing enhanced ILL service to our patrons because of our new system.
