Toni Dove

Toni Dove lives and works in New York. Since the early 1990s, she has produced works that redefine the form of the traditional narrative through the use of interactive components. Her installations feature female characters from different eras who are subjected to the economic and technological determinants of their time. Dove's works also offer a feminist rereading of conventions from popular genres such as science fiction and the Gothic novel.

She works primarily in video and installation. Also, she works in photography.

It's interesting how much she plays with present and future concepts. And having scenarios where the two interact in "Artificial Changelings."

The images really are "big" in style, very exaggerated looks.

What are some examples of Dove's work, and how does she break the boundries of the style you suggested, science fiction and the gothic novel? Is her video work like short movies.
