NFL Executive Talks Stadium In Minneapolis

Talks over a possible new Vikings football stadium continued on Friday morning when Governor Mark Dayton met with NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell.

Goodell's visit comes after the abandonment of the Arden Hills stadium plan and amid the push for a downtown Minneapolis plan.

NFL executives told KSTP channel 5
that the visit was not a threat, but a way to communicate the outcome of a failed stadium deal in Minnesota.

Goodell told KARE 11
and other news crews on Friday, "The Wilfs are frustrated, but they are committed to this community. They want to be here. But they recognize for them to continue to operate here successfully and to field a competitive team, they need to get the new stadium."
