The Minnesota Daily reported that Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton was optimistic in his address Wednesday. He did stress the state's priorities like higher education. Dayton believes education will help grow the state in many different ways.
Along with education, the governor stressed the importance of job creation, and fiscal responsibility.
University of Minnesota President, Eric Kaler, was warmly recieved as he stressed more public funding for the state's public universities and colleges. University of Minnesota's funding was cut 15% last session.
Dayton lamented state budget cuts to higher education.
The Coon Rapids Herald reported that Dayton described the current picture of Minnesota as the "sun peeking through the clouds."
Dayton stayed away from partisan tones during his address.
