Mission Statement
Personal mission statement. To become the best Agriculturalist, to care for, love, and nurture the land from which all good things come. I cannot remember if that is the type of mission statement you were looking for but this is something that I have had for many year as my personal mission statement. I developed it in high school. It has nothing to do will teams, mostly because it has everything to do with my future career plans. Also it has nothing to do with teams because it is my personal mission statement not my teams mission statement or a companies mission statement.
Conclusions on Emotional Intelligence,
Conclusions on Emotional Intelligence, well It was not really something that I had ever hear about before. Emotional Intelligence is an new to me and I really don’t know what to think of it. I can see how emotional intelligence is important to the work place and just everyday life. I kind of disagree with Goleman’s statement that emotional intelligence is more important then technical knowledge and IQ. This maybe be true for some jobs but for a lot of jobs you need to have the technical knowledge and IQ or you cannot do the job. You cannot be a rocket scientist on emotional intelligence alone. I think Goleman would have made a better point to have said some thing along the lines of having emotional intelligence can double your possibilities for you career but the technical knowledge is first need to build upon and that is what is important to me. Having the technical knowledge to back up emotional intelligence, because without it you are not a functional person or employ.
Final Blog
So concepts that need further clarification I think would be just the more practical application of what we are learning in class. I believe that when we did small group working in class and everybody was put in more of a office/team setting it was weird how the personalities we had learned about in class came out in those small groups. With that it would have been cool if we could have down team evaluations aver every part of the project so that problems with in the team could have some light shown on it to help correct the problems that make a dysfunctional group. As for assignments they were all very helpful. I can think of one that I liked the most and I cannot think of the one that had the lease helpful information. The only change I have for you is the group evaluations and that they should happen more often to help the teams to work better. Thanks for everything this was a fun class.
Fish
Not in a rut because i am sure because i couldn't stand it. that is why i love my job, it is routine and but in a way its not. I don't know if i would be creative. but i an adaptable and have to be a good attitude and outlook. If i was like mary i would just try and make the best of my job. being creative is good idea. Just as improtant to being adaptable to change is being able to enact change to make change happen takes alot more then just being creative. really that is more improtant then being creative useing that creative power to make things happen.
Tipping Point
Something that inspired me about tipping Point is that it only takes one to start something to start a movement and make something happen. this is inspireing to me because like many people i like to think that i can some how make differences in the world, make things tip. But what kinda worries me is that i am not one of those people that have the ablities to make this hugh changes. i'm not a maven, salesmen, or an informer. but its not that bad i guess because those people sound alittle wierd to me. i don't want to be an informer because it seems like all they care about is informing others about their greatness by just telling telling and telling. not really getting to know anyone not connecting and or getting to know anybody and thats not me. i'm not a salesmen because they just sell it and thats it. no connection. mavens meets and knows alot of people and this is the type of person i like most and the person that i relate to most. but i don't know nearly the number of people that the book describs as mavens. Jack said in class mavens are like the people on facebook, the online social network, that have five or six hundred or 1000 friends and they really don't connect with any of them. i have about one hundred friends on facebook and i think that i really have a connection and friendship with 90% of them. which is not at all like a maven so thats why i'm not a maven and never will be.

What defines a highly effective team in your field
I highly effertive team in my firld would be a family that can work well together. Because i am plannning on returning to farm after coolege i will not be working in the normal team setting because i will be working will my parents sister and great uncle. but i will have to be able to work in a small tight knit group that has to do alot of problem solving on a daily basis. but problem solving and decsion making are not always made decsion the sameway that many people in the business word do. on the farm we have alot of former decsions that help in the process the next year. but my choices are seen as very routine on the farm. when something big dose come up we have help for outside experts. Bankers are part of a farmers team. but back to the main point of this blog. having a highly effective team in farming just involues being able work well with others. i guess that dose make us the same as most people, but we are working with family no just coworkers. since families are the team there is more meaning to the team than just a team a wok or school that you don't see outside work or school. i deal with my family everyday. just imange working with your family everyday and that is like my team in my field so strong family team work is my team work.

Something that has tipped or will tip
When I started thinking about something that will tip someday, I thought of the future reform of production agriculture. Currently there is a huge tread of rapid expansion and outrageous land prices. The increase in the price of land is caused by the expansions of the metro area into rural areas. When the investors who own the land around the city see for big bucks to developers they reinvest that capital in land further away from the metro to prevent it from being taxed. These investors have drastically increased the price of land in Minnesota. They rent out the land they own to the farmer that can pay an outrageous price, causing profit margins for the farmer to decline dramatically. Farmers believe their only solution is to rent more land to make a living. But there is an alternate path being persuaded by many of America’s smaller producers who are becoming proactive in developing change in agriculture. With the us mavens, connectors and salesmen, agriculturalists have been developing alterative ways for small farms to make a living out side of the large scale production agriculture. They are making this happen with produces like natural and organic beef, pork, and poultry. These people have found a market that is on the verge of tipping in to a more main stream market that could make small farmers more profitable then large scale production farms. The farmers that come together to build these small markets are often formed from the same regional areas and are groups of less then 50 people mostly. Current consumer trends show that people are starting to care more about their food, where it comes from and how it was produced. The smaller producer that create the market through producing what the consumers want and make it available to the population, along with some good marketing, that can make their farms more profitable.

Teach the class roles
In the teach the class presentations i discoverted that i asumed the role of the ghost, but i think that the group you are placed in has alot to do with what you become, if there is a strong leader that takes controll of the stiuation it can make for more ghost but if the goup lack more in the leadership then everyone has to work a bit hard and become more involved, nothing against my group at all they were great and very accomidating, but i let myself fall in to the role of ghost and wish i hadn't because i think i had alot more to offer to the TQM presentation. one thing that i think i would do different if doing a simaliar project again would be to have in person meetings, after class would be good just some thing that would put everybody on the samepage. i think that email is a great tool but we tend to put to much faith in its powers of connection. also emails are not moivationg but meeting in groups can be more motivating. Really what i am trying to say is that to be sucessful in this type of work you need to not just fall back and let the project pass by, instead get everyone together inperson and talk, work out everything to make things work.

What did you learn about virtual teams and/or working with Breeze?
What did you learn about virtual teams and/or working with Breeze? well what i learned about virtual teams and working with breeze was that it was like working with groups in the flesh, if the group doesn't meet the group dose not get anything done. what i also learned that breeze could be very useful if the group dose meet online. if makes team work easier for people that cnnot met in person but i thick that it would always be better to have "real" meeting rather than group meetings.
