Getting Started with Moodle

I just finished setting up a Moodle server at www.anokacountytraining.us. The purpose of this server is to be a pilot program for online/distance education/training at my place of employment, Anoka County.

The experience was pretty straightforward. I'm using a webhosting account at FatCow.com to run the server. It took a long time to upload 56Mb of files via ftp and I didn't have any clear instructions from FatCow on how to connect the MySQL server to my Moodle application. I may still have to re-set some PHP variables. But all-in-all, it's pretty amazing that it is now installed.

Next things to do:
Modify a theme to use Anoka County logo and colors
Add myself and Andre Koen as teachers
Start adding template courses to demonstrate the features of Moodle
Create additional blog entries to reflect on what has happened to get to this point.
