CASA SOL IS...

A distinguished living and learning community for University of Minnesota freshmen, designed to make the University smaller. The goal is to create a fun living and learning community for students interested in Chicano Studies based on what it's like to grow up or live as a Chicano/a or Latino/a in the US. This helps them to learn, remember, celebrate and embrace Chicano/Latino culture. A community is formed in which networks are created, friendships are formed, and support systems shaped to strengthen the skills and understanding of its members. Casa Sol strives to support in-group diversity, challenge outside stereotypes, and guide students to achieve their goals and aspirations.
