Friday Random Top 10

I had a code for the Leonard Cohen presale but tickets were $175 plus fees for 15th row seats so I just couldn't pull the trigger. I'm gonna kick myself from here to eternity but that's just too much $$$ to see a show. I need a random top 10:

1. Killing an Arab -- The Cure
2. Nothing Compares 2 U -- Prince
3. My Heart -- Neil Young
4. UFO -- The Wedding Present
5. Silver Shorts -- The Wedding Present
6. 8th Street -- Bellwether
7. Get on the Snake -- Soundgarden
8. 16 Blue -- The Replacements
9. Can't Help Falling in Love -- Elvis Presley
10. Sister Ray -- Velvet Underground

Bonus: Returning the Screw -- Fugazi.

Ahhh, that felt better. A nice double hit of the Wedding Present. If there was any justice in the world Bellwether would have been just as big as Ryan Adam and the Cardinals and 8th Street would have been their big breakthrough hit. What's your top 10?

I totally forgot about Cohen going on sale last Monday (I'd have to go to LA), after talking about it all weekend. Glad to hear it's so expensive, so I don't feel as bad not going.

I still might try to buy tickets on the street or last minute Craigslist by someone who needs to dump a ticket. Not holding my breath, however.

George, you also messed up our string of doubles today. In fact all three doubles were each from the same album. How rare is that?

Sorry for blowing the doubles--I'm posting a second time to make up for it. Turns out Cohen non-presale tickets for LA don't go on sale until *this* Monday. So I still have a shot. At crummy seats, but a shot.

1. "Tom Traubert's Blues" Tom Waits - Small Change
2. "Pitch The Baby" Cocteau Twins - Heaven Or Las Vegas
3. "St. Swithins Day" Billy Bragg - Back to Basics
4. "Loving Cup" The Rolling Stones - Exile On Main Street
5. "Re-Make/Re-Model" Roxy Music - Roxy Music
6. "Head Honcho" Devotchka - A Mad & Faithful Telling
7. "So You'll Aim Toward the Sky" Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
8. "Have Love Will Travel" The Sonics - Here Are The Sonics
9. "The Orchids" Califone - Roots & Crowns
10. "No Train to Stockholm" Lee Hazlewood - Cowboy in Sweden
bonus "Luv n' Haight" Sly & The Family Stone - There's A Riot Goin' On

Damn. No Bruce.
