Political Hip-Hop: A Means of Activism Through Music
This is a project created for Scott Curries Mus1910W class at the U of M in the fall of 2008. It consists of three papers looking at different aspects of the genre of political hip-hop. The first paper is a live performance analysis of the Michael Franti performance at in downtown St. Paul during the Republican National Convention in 2008. The second is a research paper on the history and culture of political hip-hop, and the third an analysis of the song â€œEverythangâ€? by the Coup.
