Dijkstra interview

CBI's interview with programming pioneer Edsger Dijkstra is published in the August issue of the Communications of the ACM. The colorful interview is the last one Dijkstra gave before his death in 2002. He gives an insider's view on becoming a programmer, the invention of his "shortest path" algorithm, delightful gossipy stories about Peter Naur, Tony Hoare, Gerritt Blaauw, Alan Perlis, and others as well as differences between Dutch and American computing culture.
