Tom's Drugstore: Building on the Energy of Campaign Season

Millions of Americans have been activated by political campaigns this year. But what comes after the elections? How can we build on this energy to create civic change? Harry Boyte, author of The Citizen Solution: How You Can Make a Difference, will lead an open discussion.

Thursday, August 21 7:30 to 9 p.m. Schneider Drug Store 3400 University Ave SE Minneapolis, Minnesota 612-379-7232

Tom Sengupta, the owner of Schneider Drugstore, hosts "Tom’s Drugstore," a monthly meeting where people of different ages, views and backgrounds mix it up on different political and public affairs topics. Each discussion begins with two or three short reflections, and then people jump in.

Tom's Drugstore follows in the tradition of the Humphrey drug store in Doland, South Dakota. In Doland, Hubert Humphrey’s father’s drug store was the civic center of town.
