Volunteer Opportunity: Build College Awareness with Kids

Minneapolis I Know I Can College Awareness Day
February 19, 2008

This year 2,700 third graders attending Minneapolis public schools will participate in the first-ever Minneapolis I Know I Can College Awareness Day. Volunteers will read and discuss I Know I Can, a children’s book that introduces college awareness in a context that young children can understand. The event will bring over 200 volunteers into classrooms to share the significance of making college attendance an aspiration.

Only a small time commitment is required - one hour for the event and one hour for an information session.

For an application and more information contact Rachel Wax in the Career and Community Learning Center at 612-626-2044 or by e-mail.
