Using Sport for Community: Development in Uganda and Beyond

Each of the presenters was nominated by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) to participate in the "International Sport Connection" (ISC) Soccer coach exchange/training program. The ISC, which includes partners from the University of Minnesota and Macalester College, received funding from the Sports United Office of the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs.

The talk will be led by Stone Kyambadde, who was featured in Stephen Covey's best-selling book, The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, and has been an invited speaker for NASA and the U.S. Navy.

This event is co-sponsored by Global Spotlight, the Office of International Programs' biennial focus on a region of the world and a pressing global issue. In 2009-2010, the focus will be on the continent of Africa and the issue of Water in the World.
