Lange Research and Evaluation, Inc- hiring Evaluation Specialist

Lange Research and Evaluation, Inc. (www.langeresearch.com) is a service-oriented firm that provides research, evaluation, project planning, and data-related services to non-profit and for-profit organizations and companies throughout the United States. Its clients include a variety of groups in the field of education and social sciences including national organizations, universities, state education agencies, private foundations, county and city government, local education agencies, charter schools, and companies within the private sector. The company was formed in 1995 and has served over 75 clients in over 15 states. In addition, projects have included data gathering in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The "What Works" Clearinghouse (WWC) (http://www.whatworks.ed.gov/) vetted Lange Research and Evaluation, Inc. and lists them on their site as a recommended evaluator.

Evaluation Specialist Position

We are a forward-looking growing small company that is looking to add to our team of evaluators and researchers by hiring an Evaluation Specialist. The Evaluation Specialist reports to the project managers and collaborates with the team to develop and implement research and evaluation projects including project design, work plans, instrument development, data management, and analyses, and reports and presentations.

Specific Responsibilities

• Conduct research and literature reviews
• Understand and use basic evaluation and research techniques
• Design and implement project surveys--both online and mail
• Conduct qualitative data gathering such as interviews and focus groups
• Use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Webinar technology
• Work as a team member, both as a team leader and member
• Assist with the design of logic models, evaluation plans, instruments
• Interpret descriptive and inferential statistics
• Assist with report writing, briefings, and dissemination efforts
• Support project managers with project management tasks

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree in a social science field with coursework in evaluation/research methods
• Knowledge of education and related fields
• Demonstrated leadership and self-starting characteristics
• Quantitative and qualitative analysis skills (i.e. Excel, SPSS)
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work independently
