APS 5201 Career and Job Search Preparation for Graduate Students

Job search preparation and career development tools for all graduate students (masters and PhD students in all programs). Offered on the St. Paul campus. Focus will be on non-academic careers though some class content can be targeted to the academic search. Topics include: goal setting, networking, job search, resume/CV, and interviewing. Offered S/N. Meets 10 times over 15 weeks (plus individual appointments). Assignments include resume/CV, informational interview, and career development plan.
This course will help you prepare, now, to be ready for an effective job search when graduation approaches. Don't wait until your last semester or last year to start your employer research, establishing relationships, creating an effective resume and practicing your interviewing skills.
