Graduate Assistant: Accreditation Management Support
Job Description
A 50% graduate assistant position has been established to support accreditation management efforts within the College of Education and Human Development. The graduate assistant will support initial and advanced educator development programs in CEHD in preparation for the Fall 2012 unit approval and accreditation review by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Minnesota Board of Teaching (BOT). The graduate assistant will report to the Coordinator of Accountability and Accreditation and will work closely with staff in EDRC and the Dean's Office.
Job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to the following:
-Working with groups of faculty and staff within CEHD on accreditation-related committees and projects.
-Handling communications and announcements within CEHD and among external partners.
-Preparing and editing reports and other documents.
-Managing logistics for large meetings and events, including the accreditation site visit.
-Developing and managing the accreditation master schedule.
-Meeting management and note taking.
Qualifications:
-Current enrollment in a CEHD graduate-level program.
-Training in program evaluation.
-Contextual knowledge of PreK-12 and higher education systems.
-Understanding of both quantitative and qualitative methodologies; ability to analyze and interpret data.
-Ability to use a variety of computer programs and applications related to word processing, communications, data management, and Web technologies.
-Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and oral forms, to internal and external stakeholders.
-Excellent interpersonal skills; poised and professional in interactions with University personnel and external agencies.
-Successful experience working both independently and as a team member.
