Tutor Corps at Breakthrough Saint Paul
Breakthrough Saint Paul, a six-year academic enrichment and college access program, has a dual mission:
To launch highly motivated, under-resourced students from the Saint Paul Public Schools on the path to college and;
To attract a diverse group of talented young people to pursue careers in education.
Join the Tutor Corps at Breakthrough Saint Paul!
Breakthrough Saint Paul is expanding our corps of tutors to call upon when our 7th-12th grade students need extra academic support during the 2010-2011 school year. We are seeking tutors for math, science, reading, and writing. Tutors will be paired with students based on student needs, geographical compatibility, and tutor areas of expertise. Tutors and students will meet at a mutually selected public location, ideally the student's school or a Saint Paul Public Library. Tutors are asked to make a 2 hour/week commitment for a period of 3 months. Tutors are also required to attend a training scheduled for January 29th, 2011 in order to begin tutoring in February.
