Several internships & positions with the MN Swarm

Overview:

The following intern(s) will be provided with hands-on experience within a professional sports environment. The internship will provide someone who desires a career in sports with an opportunity to learn the business side of sports while gaining valuable career experience, building a portfolio and enjoying networking opportunities in the process.

Term of Internship:

Includes pre-season, the entire 2012 season and post-season wrap up (typically through the end of May). Due to the season schedule, we do not offer single semester internships.

Positions Available:

Ticket Sales

Ticket Sales and Service Position
Assist the sales team with managing group ticket programs and databases
Manage group ticket distribution
Create informative flyers for large distribution
Must be proficient on Microsoft Publisher, Excel and Word
Hourly office requirement will be based on the availability of the candidates
Required to work all (8) eight home games, plus all home playoff games
Required to work a minimum of (5) five outside events as needed by staff

Corporate Partnerships

Corporate Partnerships Position

Assist the corporate partnership department in all aspects of corporate partner contracted deliverables
Assist with sponsor correspondence
Manage miscellaneous administrative tasks
Assist with all special events developed for client hospitality
Assist in prospecting new leads for corporate partnership
Hourly office requirement will be based on the availability of the candidates
Required to work all (8) eight home games, plus all home playoff games
Required to work a minimum of (5) five outside events as needed by staff

Video Production

Video Production Position
Shoot and edit the Toyota Post-Game Wrap Up
Assist with the production of in-game and website features
Work with the Public Relations and Marketing departments on media and league needs
Must be proficient in Final Cut Pro
Hourly office requirement will be based on the availability of the candidates
Required to work all (8) eight home games, plus all home playoff games
Availability to shoot occasional special events/requests

Graphic Design

Graphic Design Position

Responsible for the creation of artwork to be used on a variety of programs, flyers, website, etc.
Ability to update mnswarm.com as needed
Must be proficient in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
Hourly office requirement will be based on the availability of the candidates
Required to work all (8) eight home games, plus all home playoff games
Availability to shoot occasional special events/requests

Public Relations

Public Relations Position

Administrative/Team Travel

Administrative/Team Travel Position
Assist Executive Assistant with variety of travel needs for players, staff, etc.
A variety of office needs: filing, compiling information, building databases
Assist with Sponsorship fulfillments in game and in the office
Hourly office requirement will be based on the availability of the candidates
Required to work all (8) eight home games, plus all home playoff games
Required to work a minimum of (5) five outside events as needed by staff

Events and Marketing

Full Time (Field Managers)
Work with Events and Marketing Coordinator on game day and event prep
Assist with in-game promotions
Manage flow of traffic on and off field
Point of contact at a variety of events throughout term of internship
Work 2-3 days/events per week (in addition to games)
Required to work all (8) eight home games, plus all home playoff game

(2) Part-time (Assistant Field Managers)

Assist Field Managers with all game day needs
Manage a variety of tasks in the office and during games
Work 1-2 days in office - Thursdays or Fridays only (in addition to games)
Required to work all 8 home games, plus all home playoff games
Required to work a minimum of (5) five outside events as needed by staff

(2) Game Day Positions
Variety of tasks on game days
Work all 8 home games, plus up all home playoff games
Required to work a minimum of (5) five outside events as needed by staff

Desired Qualifications:

o Candidates must be students/graduates of an accredited college or university

o Demonstrate professionalism; organized, responsible and punctual

o Must be self-motivated, possess a strong work ethic, have a high energy level and possess good attention to detail

o Have flexible schedules to work all Swarm games and some extended/unusual hours including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills

o Candidates should be results-oriented with ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple projects

o Preferred computer experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and PowerPoint
