Job Description:
This position exists to manage agency-wide affirmative action, equal employment opportunity and diversity programs for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Directs efforts which ensure the attraction, promotion and retention of employees from protected classes so that all agency programs and policies reflect equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and diversity priorities.

Minimum Qualifications:
*Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science or related field AND Two years of professional experience in the areas of diversity and affirmative action.
*Knowledge of federal, state and local human/civil rights laws.
*Strong interpersonal and human relations skills sufficient to deal effectively with individuals and groups with diverse interests and from diverse backgrounds.
*Strong leadership skills sufficient to provide direction and guidance to management staff and the agency diversity committee.
*Investigative skills and experience sufficient to conduct investigations of alleged discrimination and harassment.
*Conflict resolution, mediation, and group facilitation skills.
*Ability to develop and deliver clear and effective training programs and materials.
