Job Description: Minnesota Management & Budget is filling two Student Worker Paraprofessional positions. One position will work directly with the Human Resources office and one will work with the Human Resources Management Division. These positions will provide assistance to professional human resources staff in a variety of Human Resource functions.

Duties include, but are not limited to, resume verification, imaging, scanning, and responding to questions from the general public on the job information line. Maintenance of personnel and position files, document processing, and retention. Create, update and maintain informational folders and packets for retirees, separations and new hires. Assist with general clerical functions such as data entry and tracking, answering phones, compiling letters and reports. Flexible work schedule, from to 20-40 hours a week between the core hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. You must indicate on your resume the college you are currently attending and your anticipated graduation date in order to be considered for this vacancy.

(To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker, you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students must be enrolled in a post-secondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Knowledge of human resource principals
- Analytical skills sufficient to review human resources files and databases to track and enter information accurately
- Strong knowledge and experience with computer applications including Microsoft Office Products, with the ability to learn other applications.
- Spreadsheet skills sufficient to develop and modify electronic spreadsheets to compile lists or track projects and activities.
- Writing skills sufficient to create, format, edit, print and save memos and correspondence
- English (speaking and writing) to create and provide information accurately in both written and oral communication.
- Human relation skills sufficient to maintain good working relationships with Agency staff and external customers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- The physical demands of this position may involve sitting most of the time with a degree of standing, lifting, bending and pulling.

Preferred Qualifications: A student pursuing a degree or certificate in Human Resources or Business-related area. Applicants must have good customer service and organizational skills; the ability to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to provide information to applicants and employees.
