The U of M Library is seeking to hire student staff!

Wilson Library | Clerical and Administrative Support Student Position


- Computer skills to include email, internet, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with copiers, fax machine, and voice mail
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive materials and information
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks/priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor
- Internet search skills

- Work study preferred
- One to two years office or administrative experience
- Customer service experience
- Experience with electronic calendars
- Experience assisting staff with wide range of projects

Reception (50%):
- Provide day-to-day operation support for reception area: includes answer phones, direct calls, welcomes and assists guests
- Open and/or close office
- Maintain departmental meeting space
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness and organization of public areas: reception and waiting areas, kitchen, copier room, and conference rooms.
- Maintain inventory and organization of supplies
- Gather and distribute mail
- Copy and organize meeting materials i.e. handouts, agendas, etc.

Administration Support (50%):
- Provide clerical support to members of Libraries Administration
- Schedule meetings
- Prepare mailings
- Prepare documents and spreadsheets
- Gather and consolidate information from multiple sources
- Assist with meeting set-up, preparation, and clean up
- Update Libraries wiki pages
- Print materials
- File
- Make copies and compile materials
- Other projects/work as assigned by supervisor
- Errands/deliveries on campus
- Locate library materials
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
