Weiss gives keynote at Girls on the Run summit
Maureen Weiss, Ph.D., professor in the School of Kinesiology and co-director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport, gave a keynote presentation at the Girls on the Run Summit in Austin, Texas on January 19, 2010. The title of her presentation was, "Promoting life skills and healthy outcomes in girls: Benefits of a physically active lifestyle." Girls on the Run is a positive youth development program for girls 8-13 years old, in which running and other physical activities are the medium for "educating and preparing girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living."
