Alumni higher ed. deans featured in the latest Connect
Mary Brabeck (Ph. D. '80) and Kate Steffens (Ph.D. '89) have each applied what they learned through the Department of Educational Psychology to reach the top of their field. Since 2003 Brabeck has been dean of New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development, which consistently ranks among the top 15 graduate schools of education, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Steffens is expanding the leadership skills she developed at more traditional colleges in her new position as dean of the Richard W. Riley College of Education at Walden University, a for-profit, online university.
Both education deans partially credit the strong influence of educational psychology faculty for the success they have achieved. Read the profiles of Brabeck and Steffens in the Winter/Spring '10 issue of Connect.
