College treats international students to special Thanksgiving dinner
Dean Jean Quam's annual International Thanksgiving Dinner provided a meal and an intercultural experience to more than 60 international students from 18 different countries on Nov. 21. The event, started in 2007, featured traditional U.S. Thanksgiving food and included opportunities for faculty, staff, students, their spouses, and even friends from other colleges to interact.
It's a "wonderful event" that allows international students to feel welcomed and connected, says Director of International Initiatives and Relations Christopher Johnstone (in center of photo with students). The event, which included an "ice breaker" by Student Services staff, is arranged by events manager Serena Wright in the Office of Communications.
