Senator Franken speaks about importance of STEM
Al Franken, US Senator from Minnesota, spoke at the Humphrey Institute for Public Affairs new Public Policy Series at the University of Minnesota on Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Franken gave his support of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) initiatives in progress at the University of Minnesota, including the interdisciplinary STEM Education Center. Franken also supported K-12 efforts to improve STEM education around the state of Minnesota. A key point was the importance of adequate STEM education preparation with the ability to meet job demand requirements.
