Bellcourt earns Josie R. Johnson Human Rights and Social Justice Award
CEHD Student Services adviser Mark Bellcourt has been awarded the University's 2012 Josie R. Johnson Human Rights and Social Justice Award. The award recognizes individuals who are passionately engaged in the areas of social justice, human rights, equity, and diversity. It is given yearly to one current faculty or staff member and one current undergraduate or graduate student.
Bellcourt has a distinguished career in increasing educational opportunities for individuals from underrepresented communities, especially in STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Mark is currently involved in two research projects exploring effective classroom implementation of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and academic interventions to help learners become more culturally competent.
