Rebecca Shlafer (Ph.D. 2010), post doctoral fellow, Healthy Youth Development Prevention Research Center and instructor, Institute of Child Development, appeared recently on KSTP-TV to discuss the effect that incarcerating parents can have on their children. Asked to comment on the sentencing of Amy Sensor on July 10, Shlafer talked about the anxiety and possible stress reactions that can have an impact on children and the efforts of family to protect children from these stressful events.
