Gao publishes two papers on youth and physical activity

Dr. Zan GaoDr. Zan Gao, assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology, recently published two pieces related to youth and physical activity in the International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance Journal of Research. He is the second author on both publications.

The citation are as follows:

  • Huang, C., & Gao, Z. (2012). The effect of after-school physical activities on children's exercise determinants and behaviors. International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance Journal of Research, 7(1), 53-58.

  • Ning, W., Gao, Z., & Lodewyk, K. (2012). Associations between socio-motivational factors, physical education activity levels and physical activity behavior among youth. International Council for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, Sport, and Dance Journal of Research, 7(1), 1-9.

Dr. Chaoqun Huang, assistant professor at Wayland Baptist University and former advisee of Dr. Gao, is the first author on the first article. This article represents Dr. Huang's comprehensive exam project while a student at the University of Utah. Weihong Ning, the first author on the second article, is a current doctoral candidate at Texas Tech University and a previous advisee of Dr. Gao.
