Doherty2010.jpgDepartment of Family Social Science professor and Minnesota Couples on the Brink project director Bill Doherty was featured in a SELF Magazine article on Discernment Counseling.

Discernment Counseling helps individuals and couples decide whether to try to restore their marriage to health or move towards divorce.

Doherty's MN Couples on the Brink project received an overwhelming amount of requests for this specialized counseling and created online training for licensed therapists to complete in order to offer discernment counseling nationally.

Doherty and his colleagues are currently conducting an evaluation of their first 100 cases.
