Outage Description
From 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2009, there will be an outage in the WBOB data center while Office of Information Technology (OIT) engineers perform maintenance on the network connections. During this time, all IT systems, applications, and tools within WBOB may be sporadically unavailable for use.
Affected applications, systems, and tools include:
University Services- WebVista
- Moodle
- U of M e-mail
- myU Portal
- Active Directory
- PeopleSoft
- NetFiles
- All CFANS Collegiate and Departmental Web Sites and related services
- SQL server (cfans-sqldata.ad.umn.edu)
- CFANS-Managed Listservs
Process
During this switch maintenance, connections to applications and servers housed in the WBOB data center will be unavailable until maintenance on each network switch is complete. Engineers will be working on two network switches at a time. Expected outages for each should not exceed 90 minutes.When repairs are complete, systems should begin coming back online.
